July 1, 2026: School’s out, and we’ve been waiting for this day for a long time! My parents took the week off from work and we went camping at a super cool lakefront campsite. We’re staying in our awesome 2021 Outback 340BH travel trailer. It’s HUGE! It has three slides that make the inside feel like a little house (even though we weren’t at home). Today was sunny and perfect for campfires. We pulled out our chairs from the storage and sat by the fire, roasting marshmallows and singing songs. It was so fun, and we didn’t want to stop. The best part is that the trailer has an outdoor kitchen so if we wanted a sandwich, we didn’t have to leave everyone to go make it. We stayed outside for hours and barely made it inside before we were all so tired.
August 2, 2026: The August long weekend is over, and I’m kind of sad. I had the best time ever! Tonight we made steaks and roasted veggies for dinner inside the trailer. Dad cooked on the 3-burner stove with ingredients from the fridge and pantry, and I helped by cleaning the kitchen island with my little sister. The kitchen in the Outback is SO nice, with big counters and a farmhouse-style sink. After dinner, we all hung out in the living room. Me and my sister sat at the big booth dinette and drew pictures while mom and dad relaxed in the comfy recliners. We watched A Minecraft Movie for the fifteenth time on the raisable TV, but nobody complained, the electric fireplace keeping us warm.
August 15, 2026: Today was a super muddy day. We went on a hike and got totally covered in dirt. My shoes were full of mud, and I had sweat running down my face. But when we came back to the trailer, we got to clean up in the bathroom, which was AWESOME! The shower in the trailer is HUGE, and we could all take turns getting clean in the big shower. There was also lots of room to dry off too.
August 22, 2026: This summer has been the best, and I’m kind of bummed it’s almost over. Tonight we made burgers and grilled veggies for dinner, and everyone helped out. Afterward, my parents relaxed in the living room while my sister and I played in the rear bunkhouse. That room is just for us! When we got tired, we crawled into our bunk beds, and mom and dad went to be in the front bedroom. I can’t wait to do it all over again.
