Cans hiss-crack-pop open as you and the boys scatter from under the awning of the 2023 Jay Flight 265RLSW travel trailer out to the fire, butts loafed in chairs poached from the exterior pass-through. Your laughter bounces off the surrounding trees and smacks the fibreglass siding where inside, the party continues.
Above the music seeping through the entertainment centre, chatter fills the space as bodies occupy the rear loungers, sofa-bed, and booth dinette. The scent of pork potstickers from the 3-burner stove circulates as another plate of snacks from the pantry get added to the solid countertops. The fridge is forever open as hands clamour for their next drink, the dual sink faucet running after every glass to get the morning headaches at bay.
Night comes quickly as your guests stagger to their sites. With towels from the linen closet, you and your partner freshen up in the standing shower in the spacious walkthrough bathroom, eventually finding your way underneath the covers of the front queen bed. You make sure to set an alarm to witness that glowing sunrise, sneaking out from the secondary door, barely even leaving the comforts of the pad, the morning dew caressing the tops of your feet.
