The fish haven’t bitten all day, and Russ is getting antsy as he watches the sun dip below the water level—soon he and his nephew Tristan will have to row back to their 2009 Canyon Trail 27FRBW fifth wheel laying in wait, lakeside. Just then, Tristan’s rod snags on and reels in a 14 inch trout. Back at their humble abode, Russ freshens up in the separated bathroom, utilizing the standing shower while Tristan guts the fish on the extendible counter, cleaning in the dual sink, and frying on the 3-burner stove, plucking fresh spices from the pantry next to the fridge. “Alright, now I’ll teach you how to gut,” proclaims Russ as he saunters in, the booth dinette already set for dinner.
Licking the plates clean, they move to the rear, flipping on music on the stereo in the entertainment centre and crashing onto the rockers, the night sky piercing through the windows around them. Russ dusts off a book to read as Tristan pulls out his phone and scrolls.
