All About Seasonal Camping Trailers

If you like the experience of outdoor living but don’t want to spend most of the season on the road, destination trailers or a park model might be your answer. These are meant for a single setup per season, have lots of space and give you the RV time you desire.

Destination

Average Price (new): $70,000 – $120,000

Length: 32 – 41 feet

Sleeps: Up to 10

The big (BIG) sister to a traditional travel trailer with the same construction basics (aluminum or fiberglass siding and RV windows and doors), these are designed for only occasional moves (like from storage to camp) and require a heavy duty towing vehicle. Lots of times they’ll have slides (some even have loft beds) for tons of living space! But you keep the requirements of a travel trailer: you’ll need site hook-ups.

Features

  • Extra space
  • Residential style kitchens
  • Full bath and showers
  • Set up for full season camping
  • Multiple bedrooms are common

Park Models

Average Price (new): $85,000 – $250,000

Length: 32 – 41 feet

Sleeps: Up to 10

Imagine living in a cabin with the flexibility of towing to a new favorite campsite every season. Essentially this movable condo gives you the timeshare experience all to yourself. While similar to destination trailers in basic amenities (and hookup requirements) these models are built to look and feel more like a house than a trailer. In fact with the right setup it’s hard to tell these from a small bungalow.

Features:

  • Tons of storage
  • Residential style kitchen
  • Full-size bath and shower
  • House style living
  • Multiple rooms and lots of personal privacy
  • Can have a patio space
  • Often has residential style construction
