This is what I’m talking about, this is glamping. None of that “return to the earth” stuff, this 2018 North Point 387RDFS by Jayco is for those of us who want to have cabin weekends, but don’t like having to pick one location and stick with it for years on end. Some might call us picky, I consider us selective.
So let’s walk through this fifth wheel with an elevated living room and bedroom. Starting from the back, the entertainment center in the rear contains a pop-up TV to not interfere with your view, a fireplace, CD/DVD player, and lots of cabinets above and below. On either side are slides, each with convertible sofas; there’s a single ottoman that can work as another seat or a coffee table, and two theater style recliners face the back, and all of which are in a matching tan leather.
The sunken kitchen is mid-cabin and has two more slides, one for the free-standing dinette, the other for the pantry, stove-top, oven, convection microwave, and 18 cu-ft fridge. Yes, eighteen (18) you read that correctly. Additional storage can be found in the forward hutch and center island, where there’s also an undermount stainless-steel sink.
But no matter how nice the kitchen is, or comfy the couch, it’s a complete disaster if the bed isn’t up to snuff – or the bathroom for that matter. So it’s a good thing this one comes complete with a huge glass door shower! The only reason it isn’t bigger is to leave space for a substantial linen cupboard to increase the storage already here in the medicine cabinet and vanity. And with that covered, we turn to the front bedroom.
In a fifth and final slide is the queen bed with complimentary nightstands and a huge space underneath. Handy indeed if you somehow manage to fill the entire front cap walk-in closet, and that would be insanely impressive considering just how many shelves there are in there (and still leaves room for washer/dryer prep). Plus, there’s the dresser across from the bed, so if you really do end up filling the whole thing I think you’ll deserve a prize!
This unit also comes with auto leveling, ducted A/C, a DSI water heater (10-gal), 2 power awnings, tinted frameless windows, 2 Fantastic fans, camp shower, exterior speakers, roof ladder, aluminum wheels, spare tire, central vacuum, day/night shades, 2 pass-thru storage compartments, and back-up camera.
